Maintains patient record and documentation according to policy. Uses Meditech software proficiently.

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide nursing care to psychiatric patients under the direction of the RN. Works as a member of a team to assist with milieu management and performs job tasks to ensure personal, patient and departmental safety (rounds/safety searches).
• Communicates professionally and effectively with staff, physicians, management, external and internal customers. Ensures timely and accurate communication of patient information with all members of the treatment team.
• Leads or co‑leads educational and diversionary groups for adolescents, adults, and substance abuse patients. Documents group progress notes for each patient in each group.
• Adheres to all applicable policies and procedures. Supports the mission of the hospital.
• Assists charge nurses and shift supervisors in maintaining efficiency.
• Follows established confidentiality policies (written, verbal, electronic and digital).
• Pursues and takes responsibility to enhance personal and professional growth.
• Other duties as assigned.

Licensure / Credentials:

• BLS certification within 30 days.
• CPI must be obtained within 60 days of employment.

Preferred:

• Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Emergency Medical Technician.

Experience:

• Required:
  
  Able to work under pressure and maintain composure and a pleasant manner. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrated typing and word‑processing skills, experience with telephone systems, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Preferred:
  Previous experience in a hospital/medical setting. Experience with psychiatric patients.
