Responsibilities
  • Customer Satisfaction: Provides and coaches store staff to provide excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly and attentive manner.
  • Greets customers as they enter the area and thanks customers as they leave; offers assistance and recommendations.
  • Provides prompt, courteous customer service and resolves customer issues; rings up all sales on cash register properly and accurately, handling money, checks, and other types of payment.
  • Performs multi-function operation of fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions, etc.
  • Resolves or assists to resolve routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
  • Reports to work on time and follows the dress and appearance code.
Facility Condition
  • Maintains awareness of the store facility’s condition; notifies the Store Manager of any equipment failure or maintenance/supply needs; performs or directs staff to perform housekeeping duties.
  • Sweeps and mops or cleans floors; dusts and/or washes windows, counters, displays, store areas and bathrooms; disposes of trash/debris.
  • Checks equipment including coffee machines, beverage, ice or other refrigeration units, and other tools used.
Merchandising
  • Monitors and ensures product areas are stocked, rotated and displayed to ensure freshness, appeal and easy customer access.
  • Prepares or assists in preparing product inventory orders; updates pricing changes according to company/brand guidelines; places signage inside or outside the facility.
Sales & Financial Controls
  • Sales Controls: Ensures all shift sales are completed in accordance with Company policies by entering transactions at the time of purchase at the correct price using the correct keys/codes, and handling payments with accurate change.
  • Financial Controls: Keeps accurate cash, sales, payroll and inventory control records and accounts for variances.
  • Prepares and transmits daily bookkeeping, invoicing, and gasoline data; completes daily banking; assists with shift close-out and sales analysis; finalizes weekly time and attendance and payroll; notifies Store Manager of discrepancies.
Staffing & Security Controls
  • Staffing Controls: Oversees activities of store employees as directed by the Store Manager; performs shift supervision and may assume Store Manager responsibilities; schedules employees; trains duties of Customer Service Representative and Lead CSR; provides feedback and conducts performance input; implements non-discriminatory management practices.
  • Security Controls: Maintains a safe environment and protects company assets; reports incidents and unsafe or unethical conduct.
Administrative Controls
  • Prepares periodic sales, product and operating reports; attends job-related meetings; controls merchandise, cash shortages and other selling expenses; assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits; performs end-of-shift reports; maintains regular onsite attendance; performs duties with minimal supervision.
  • Completes daily store reports and other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months to 1 year of retail and management work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles, including planning and organizing, resource management and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate information clearly; handle customers and unanticipated problems using standard procedures
  • Ability to work as scheduled and arrive on time
  • Ability to operate cash registers, scanners and other equipment
  • Ability to work in the physical conditions described below and have open availability
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Ability to work opposite shifts of the Store Manager
Physical Requirements
  • Exposed to temperature extremes in walk-in cooler/freezer and outdoors
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, up to 50 pounds for other tasks
  • Repetitive hand use, reach, bend, twist, push/pull up to 20 pounds
  • Stand/walk for entire shift; may climb a ladder as needed
