Customer Service​/Sales

Overview

Position:
Customer Service/Sales at The Home Depot. Primary responsibilities include providing fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Associates learn about products using company tools, and provide information to customers in order to sell an entire project. The role involves greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing with customers in their department and supporting adjacent departments.

This position also requires maintaining in-stock conditions, keeping areas clean, shop-able, and safe. All associates must follow safety policies, complete required training, correct hazards or report them to the Manager on Duty, and work safely around co-workers, vendors, and customers. Store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.

• Provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess needs and provide assistance.
• Learn product information using company tools and help customers select products to complete projects.
• Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in their department; assist with basics in adjacent departments.
• Maintain in-stock condition of assigned areas; ensure spaces are clean, shop-able, and safe.
• Follow all safety policies and standards; complete safety training; immediately correct hazards or report unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
• Work in cooperation with the Department Supervisor and other department associates, and coordinate with other departments as needed.
• Recognize that specific store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.
