You will assist in determining and providing the medical/psychiatric nursing care and treatment for patients at Oregon State Hospital, under the supervision of an RN. Your duties include administering medications as ordered, completing focused assessments, responding to emergent psychiatric situations, maintaining a safe and secure environment, and contributing to the therapeutic milieu.
Responsibilities- Administer medication and treatments as ordered by providers.
- Conduct focused patient assessments and monitor patient status.
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and crisis situations.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and evaluate patient care.
- Valid Oregon Practical Nurse License at the time of appointment.
- License obtained within a reasonable time after application.
- Completion of a pre‑employment drug test if offered employment.
- Abuse check, criminal record check, and driving records check must be passed.
- Experience working in mental health settings.
- Experience in conflict and crisis management.
- Strong leadership and milieu management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
