Who Will You Be Working With?

You will interact with team members within Wabtec across all levels of the organization.

How Will You Make a Difference?

You will be responsible for purchasing materials and managing supplier relationships. The Buyer will analyze MRP data and forecasts to optimize inventory levels while ensuring production requirements are met. You will collaborate cross‑functionally and resolve complex delivery and quality issues with suppliers.

Typical Day
  • Source and procure materials based on MRP requirements and forecasts.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules; prepare RFQs/RFPs and purchase orders.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels; analyze spend data to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, quality, customer service, and engineering to align material requirements and inventory control.
  • Resolve complex delivery, pricing, and quality issues; participate in supplier audits and performance evaluations.
  • Track and report sourcing savings and key procurement KPIs; support global and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Coordinate supplier notification of engineering or technical changes; ensure ERP data accuracy (items, suppliers, lead times).

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

This is not a remote role.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is in the range of $62,100 – $85,300 annually. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
