SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced transportation safety office program manager to oversee our education, training and outreach programs and grants. In this role, you will oversee biking and walking, drug and alcohol impairment, distracted driving, law enforcement, and other programs, guiding staff in policy development and implementation, grant management, and fund allocation based on data and best practices. You will also ensure compliance with both state and federal safety requirements, engage with communities and Governor appointed safety committees.

- Oversee and support safety education and outreach programs on topics like impaired driving, driver education, motorcycle safety and bicycle and pedestrian safety.
- Establish processes for grant applications and select projects across all programs, ensuring federal rules are followed based on the funding type.
- Monitor and apply federal regulations to the programs that are managed, funded and developed.
- Lead policy development for individual safety implementation efforts.
- Provide data and information about safety outcomes to recommend changes to programs, policies or laws.
- Assign work to staff, review products and evaluate performance.
- Monitor, adjust and ensure that the total budget is not exceeded by implementing effective budget management strategies.
- Use project selection criteria and program resources to improve safety outcomes through data analysis and reporting.
- Attend in person meetings of multiple Governor appointed committees staffed by Transportation Safety Office.
- Drive to field sites as needed for oversight of programs and compliance.
Work is performed in office one to two days a week in a typical office environment with hybrid work.
