Behavioral Health Consultant
Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic – Lancaster Family Health Center, Salem, OR.
The Behavioral Health Consultant provides primary care‑based behavioral health services to clients with complex or chronic needs. Counseling and therapeutic services are delivered as part of a team, with primary‑care services integrated into the care plan directed by the primary‑care provider. This position is suitable for a PsyD/PhD clinical psychologist or an independently licensed Master’s‑level mental health therapist.

Exempt. Relocation available.
- Clinical Psychologist: $123,000 yearly compensation, $10,000 hiring bonus structure (At Hire: $3,000; 6 months: $4,000; 12 months: $3,000; prorated FTE).
- Master’s‑level independently licensed therapist: $102,500 yearly compensation, $7,000 hiring bonus structure (At Hire: $2,100; 6 months: $2,800; 12 months: $2,100; prorated FTE).

- Provide on‑site behavioral health services in the primary care clinic.
- Consult with providers to assist in primary care of patients.
- Serve as primary mental health provider or ancillary provider as needed.
- Assist care team with ICD‑11 diagnoses and mental health differential diagnoses.
- Collaborate across disciplines to provide equitable biopsychosocial‑spiritual care.
- Use culturally informed, evidence‑based literature for shared decision‑making.
- Work in an organized interdisciplinary team on treatment plans, patient advocacy, and clinic processes.
- Conduct individual and group training for staff and community organizations.
- Develop research‑related funding proposals.
- Partner with other providers to triage referrals.
- Provide coverage and backup for other providers.
- May assign patients to team clinicians.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission, HRSA, APA, and YVFWC requirements.
- Represent the program at leadership meetings.
- Participate in development of new programming and projects related to behavioral health.
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.
D.) in Clinical Psychology. - One year of clinical experience in a multidisciplinary primary‑care or medical setting, providing diagnostic and psychological assessments.
- One year of experience with children, adolescents, and families in specialty behavioral health settings.
- Licensed psychologist in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
- Two years of postgraduate/master’s experience in direct treatment of persons with mental illness or emotional disturbance under supervision.
- Washington State designation as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) may substitute for experience requirement.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of hire.
- One of the following licenses: LCSW, LMFT, LPC (must apply within one week of hire if not current).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
