About the Job – Your Role
This 6‑month rotation supports the Administrator, OISC leadership, and all OISC staff by providing operational oversight, setting program goals, evaluating policy impacts, and offering technical guidance on sentence computations, audits, and governing laws and policies. The role requires ensuring accuracy, uniformity, and legal compliance across OISC operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching statutes, administrative rules, legislative changes, and department policies to develop defensible recommendations for OISC leadership.
- Serving as a subject‑matter expert in sentence calculation policy and practice, and providing direction and support to OISC staff and partners.
- Representing OISC on multi-disciplinary department and inter‑agency committees and project teams.
- Managing eligibility for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through PERS, as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science, or a field demonstrating the required knowledge and skills.
- Four (4) years of professional‑level evaluative, analytical, and planning work; OR seven (7) years of equivalent experience.
Requested Skills
- Strong knowledge of sentence computation laws, corrections policy, and administrative procedures.
- Experience in policy analysis, development, and implementation within a complex operational environment.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills to guide technical and program staff.
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively on inter‑agency projects and committees.
Preferred Skills
- At least two (2) years of experience as a Prison Term Analyst.
- Law Enforcement Database System (LEDS) Certification.
- Experience working with PTAs, OISC staff, or legal teams in a corrections environment.

- On‑call for emergencies and may be asked to cover other managers.
