Job Description:

The Oregon State Police in Salem, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full-Time, Permanent Governmental Auditor III. This is an in-office position without the option for Remote or Hybrid work.

Summary of

Job Duties

You will have oversight for the development, conduct, and approve annual review findings for the assigned Oregon Tribal Gaming facilities. You will monitor, review, inspect, investigate, and verify that Tribal Gaming Operations are conducted in compliance with the provisions of the Tribal/State Compact agreements. You will serve as a Tribal Gaming Section Manager, team member, technical expert, consultant, advisor, and assist with oversight of the Section’s billing process.

You will directly supervise the Governmental Auditor IIs (GAs) assigned to the gaming facility. Additionally, in this position you will be the primary backup for the program management duties of the other Governmental Auditor 3.

Minimum Qualifications /Eligibility Requirements

A bachelor's degree in a business-related field, such as business administration, public administration, finance, economics, computer science, etc.,
AND three years of auditing experience that includes one year of experience performing governmental auditing.

OR

Twenty quarter hours of college courses in a business or financial field such as the areas listed above AND two additional years of auditing experience may substitute for the degree.

Successful completion of the duties and training as an Oregon Governmental Auditor (Entry) will substitute for one year of governmental auditing experience.

For specialized audit positions (e.g., EDP Auditor), at least one year of experience must be in the specialized audit area.

Preferred Skills
  • Demonstrated experience with working collaboratively with sovereign Tribal Governments within Oregon.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a diverse team across a wide geographical area. Have a proven track record of fostering professional development and ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing, interpreting and responding to policy issues that cross Government-to-Government jurisdiction for law enforcement programs or services and has previous experience developing and implementing regulatory compliance procedures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience exercising good use of judgement, adaptability, flexibility and creativity in the workplace and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to convey technical terms…
