We are seeking two District Grant Managers to join our Office of Education Innovation and Improvement (EII). Two appointments are available: one Permanent and one Job Rotation/Work Out of Class. Both positions are represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Work Model

This hybrid role requires onsite presence for collaboration, training, or when onsite resources are needed. Remote work is encouraged where possible, with the expectation of maintaining the same performance, responsiveness, and communication standards as in the office.

About the Office

The ODE’s mission is to foster equity and excellence for every learner. The EII implements the Student Investment Account, High School Success, Federal School Improvement (ESSA), Early Literacy Success, and other programs. The office works across districts, service districts, and agencies to support program planning, curriculum development, professional development, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor grantee reporting, budget expenditures, and program data to assess progress towards outcomes and adherence to requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to grantees and district personnel on reporting systems (e.g., grant management system, Smartsheet, dashboards) and grant requirements.
  • Develop and refine operational guidelines, procedures, and internal monitoring systems to ensure consistency across programs.
  • Review and approve grantee plans, budgets, and plan changes to ensure allowable use of funds and alignment with program requirements.
Minimum Qualifications (Must Have)
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or related field, plus two years of experience coordinating or administering a program.
  • OR any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that supports the listed knowledge and skill requirements.
Desired Attributes (Nice to Have)
  • Understanding of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of funding and grant sources related to the program area of assignment.
  • Effective written communication tailored to audience needs.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.
