We’re hiring a Chief Financial Officer at the Oregon Youth Authority — and this is not a traditional government CFO role.
OYA is in the middle of a once-in-a-generation transformation: rebuilding trust, strengthening safety, modernizing systems, and aligning resources to what actually improves outcomes for youth, families, and staff. That work requires a CFO who doesn’t just balance budgets, but who helps shape strategy.
This role sits at the center of how we do the work.
Our CFO will be:
- A strategic partner to the Director and executive team
- A steward of public trust and taxpayer dollars
- A builder of modern financial, procurement, and contracting systems
- A leader who understands that budgets are moral documents — they tell us what we value
You’ll help us:
- Align resources with youth safety, treatment, and rehabilitation
- Bring transparency and rigor to how we plan, track, and adjust
- Navigate complex state systems while still moving at the speed our mission requires
If you are a CFO (or senior finance leader) who wants their work to mean something — if you want to see how your decisions ripple through lives, facilities, and communities — I would love for you to take a look.
This is hard work. It is meaningful work. And it is absolutely worth doing.
