Special Education Teacher – $60/hr – Salem, OR – 4-Month Assignment Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction to students in kindergarten through grade 12 under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator. This educator supports academic, behavioral, and developmental needs, collaborates with school teams, and implements individualized student programs in accordance with each IEP.

Pay Rate: $60/hour (local)

Available Classrooms (Priority Listed)- Grades 3–5
- High-behavior needs: aggression, elopement, refusals
- 14 students, 3 assistants
- Higher caseload of ~40 students
- 15 students, 6 assistants
- Students with significant behavioral and developmental needs
- Caseload of ~40 students
- Half of annual IEPs already completed
- Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained or resource setting
- Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Support behavioral and developmental needs within structured environments
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and SPED leadership
- Maintain documentation, progress monitoring, and required reporting
- Communicate with families and participate in meetings as needed
- Active Oregon teaching license (SPED endorsement preferred)
- Experience in behavior-focused or self-contained SPED classrooms strongly preferred
- Comfortable working with diverse academic, behavioral, and functional needs
- CPR, TB screening, and health certificate if required
- Must meet all state, federal, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
