Position Title: Branch Operations Support (Public Benefits Specialist, Entry) | Bilingual English/Dari required

Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact in most field offices, welcoming families and providing a supportive environment.
  • Support office infrastructure and day‑to‑day operations.
  • Assist Oregonians with the online Oregon Eligibility system for ODHS, OHA, and DELC programs in person, by phone, or via email to resolve questions.
  • Provide support using a trauma‑informed lens.
  • May perform financial desk responsibilities.
  • Assist with business functions within the office.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in a reception area or call center handling high‑volume customer service or interview work; OR
  • An associate degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field plus six months of reception or call center experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Dari. The offer is contingent upon passing a language proficiency test; a 5% differential may apply.
Essential Attributes
  • Front‑desk management experience in a welcoming environment.
  • Ability to gather detailed, accurate information to assess eligibility and determine services.
  • Clear communication of program rules, procedures, and eligibility to diverse clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet browsing, online research, and email management.
  • Accurate and efficient data processing.
  • Customer‑service experience showing active listening, empathy, and respect for diverse clients.
Working Conditions
  • Locations:
    Offices and community sites.
  • Environment:
    Direct public interaction, high‑pressure situations, frequent interruptions, and high noise levels.
  • Physical demands:
    Prolonged sitting, repetitive motions, computer use, keyboarding.
  • Hours:

    Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (scheduling details to be determined).
  • Occasional travel for meetings, training, and related activities.
  • Requires a trauma‑informed approach and ability to handle stressful situations.
Background Checks and Requirements
  • Criminal history and background check will be conducted for finalists; adverse findings may lead to disqualification.
  • Visa sponsorship is not offered. I‑9 and E‑Verify completion required within three days of hire.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable record are required.
