Job Description Summary
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Senior Specialist is a senior individual contributor role accountable for leading and supporting key elements of the ERM framework and driving an integrated, sustainable approach to risk management across GE Aerospace. Operating with significant autonomy and expertise, you will shape how enterprise and emerging risks are identified, assessed, and communicated so that senior leaders and risk owners can make decisions informed by timely, insightful risk information.
At the SPB level, this role leads complex, cross‑functional ERM initiatives without direct reporting lines, relying on strong collaborative leadership and influence to drive shared ownership of risk. You will provide effective challenge to assumptions, coach stakeholders in risk management practices, and continuously improve ERM processes and tools while role modeling GE Aerospace Behaviors (Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, Customer Driven) and a FLIGHT DECK‑aligned mindset.
FLIGHT DECK is GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating model.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead significant components of the ERM framework and strategy in partnership with the ERM Leader.
- Support and facilitate regular enterprise risk assessments, coordinating input from senior leaders and cross‑functional risk owners. Synthesize diverse inputs into clear, decision‑ready risk insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the ERM Leader and business risk owners to design, challenge, and refine risk response strategies that address root causes and support shared business outcomes.
- Own updates to and refinement of the enterprise risk register and dashboard reporting (e.g., within Workiva), ensuring accuracy, usability, and consistency.
- Develop and implement approaches to monitor key risk indicators, analyze trends, and escalate insights to stakeholders with clear narratives and recommendations.
- Support efforts to develop and sustain consistent risk reporting across the organization.
- Design and support risk training and education on the ERM framework; lead development and rollout of content for leaders and teams.
- Coach risk owners and partners on risk identification, assessment, and reporting, applying a coaching approach (e.g., FUEL – GE Aerospace’s proprietary enterprise coaching model) to build capability and ownership.
- Lead through influence across the enterprise.
- Lead work across groups, divisions, and regions without direct authority, building trust and shared accountability among stakeholders.
- Apply strong collaboration, influence, and conflict management skills to align diverse perspectives, manage tradeoffs, and drive superior results for internal and external customers.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives in ERM processes (e.g., simplifying assessments, improving data flows, reducing cycle time, enhancing dashboards).
- Use structured problem solving and FLIGHT DECK‑aligned approaches to test, learn, and scale better ways of working.
- Engage with industry groups, forums, and subject matter professionals to stay current on leading ERM practices for frameworks, governance, and reporting.
- Assess and adapt external best practices to GE Aerospace, particularly in enterprise risk monitoring, scenario analysis, and risk visualization.
- Build strong, inclusive relationships across the organization; regularly go to genba (where the work happens) to understand drivers of risk and improvement opportunities.
- Act as a dependable, high‑impact specialist whose expertise and insight are critical to achieving enterprise risk objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; a concentration in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in risk management or similar risk consulting/internal control functions (e.g., internal audit, compliance, internal controls, safety, cyber), with demonstrated proficiency in risk management principles and practices.
- Experience managing cross‑functional work and stakeholders in complex, global, or…
