Job Description

This job is a full-time position based at the Washington County Circuit Court in Hillsboro, Oregon. The primary responsibilities include acting as a subject matter expert for criminal set asides (expungements), reviewing, accepting, and processing criminal set aside paperwork, sealing cases as directed, and notifying parties and agencies as required by court orders and statewide business processes. The role also handles complex partial set aside motions, initiates traffic cases, schedules appearances, processes documents, tracks cases, accepts pleas, sets up payment plans, prepares violation judgments, enters sentences and fines, and reports information to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The employee will support judges, court staff, attorneys, litigants, agencies, and the public by answering questions regarding criminal set asides and traffic cases through in-person, phone, and written communication. Mail processing and Verification unit backup coverage will also be included as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting.
  • OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

  • Experience communicating in Spanish is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time position, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Eligible for overtime compensation for hours over 40 per week.
  • Occasional after-hours or overtime work may be required.
  • Work performed in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Frequent phone and in-person contact with diverse backgrounds.
  • Frequent phone and in-person contact with individuals who may be facing stressful or traumatic situations.
  • Long periods of sitting or standing while working at a computer.
