The purpose of the Associate Accountant position is to assist with general accounting of the organization including month end close and continuous process improvement. You will provide essential support to the team, with the ability to adhere to deadlines, use initiative and develop strong working relationships. Diligent and analytical, you will have strong skills in ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities include:
- Key player with month end close 5-day process, and post close reporting, preparing journal entries and reconciliations
- Perform weekly domestic/international accounts payable payment run
- Assist with vendor payment relations as needed
- Perform all fixed and intangible asset tasks, roll forwards, and reconciliations
- Setup all prepaid expense schedules and reconcile related balance sheet accounts
- Compute and file sales and use tax
- Prepare other balance sheet reconciliations, including complex analysis
- Perform budget/forecast/actuals flux analysis on assigned P&L statements
- Assist with annual company domestic and foreign audits
- Assist with annual company domestic tax returns
- Assist with documentation of internal controls and process improvement
- Perform various other month end close responsibilities
- Perform and coordinate special projects as directed by management
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills; confidently articulate information in a professional manner to individuals at all levels, and with both internal and external partners
- Effective organization skills and an ability to prioritize multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong analytical abilities
- Demonstrates an attention to detail and thoroughness in deliverables and communications
- Maintain high-quality standards and good follow-up skills
- Continual process improvement
Education and work experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; will consider a high school diploma and five (5) years of relevant accounting work experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting duties
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
- Excellent PC skills including MS Office products (Word, Power Point, Outlook), internet and web applications/navigation
- Cloud-based accounting software and Automated Banking Payment Solution experience, a plus
- Salesforce CRM knowledge, a plus
Physical and mental demands:
- Up to 5% travel required
- Work normal business hours and extended hours when necessary
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
- Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
