We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Salem, Oregon. This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to work with a variety of clients and assisting with their bookkeeping. The ideal candidate will have experience in fund accounting and familiarity with tools like ERP systems, Stripe, Square, and
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries to support financial transactions and adjustments.
- Manage fund accounting processes, particularly within a non-profit framework.
- Utilize for payment processing and invoice management.
- Collaborate on financial audits and assist in preparing year-end financial statements.
- Work with Stripe or Square to oversee payment systems and ensure proper integration.
- Analyze financial data and provide detailed reports to support organizational decision-making.
- Assist in identifying and implementing best practices for accounting operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations specific to non-profits
Requirements
- Proven experience in fund accounting, particularly within non-profit organizations.
- Proficiency in using accounting software
- Familiarity with Stripe or Square payment systems.
- Strong understanding of general ledger management and journal entries.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with or similar payment management tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or on-site environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
