Registered Telemetry Unit Nurse | Salem, Ohio

Deliver advanced patient care on an Intermediate Telemetry Unit providing support to cardiac, respiratory, renal, and post-operative patients. Position Details:

• 13-week contract role on a 17-bed Intermediate Telemetry Unit
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio with consistent PCA support during shifts
• Focus on cardiac patients including atrial fibrillation, CHF, pre/post catheterization, and open heart surgery recovery
• Unit equipped with waveform monitors, airvo oxygen delivery, continuous BIPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Manage drips such as heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, and insulin with titration responsibilities
• Involvement in critical care transfers and patient safety advocacy within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:

• Current RN license (state-specific or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum one year RN experience; preference for acute care telemetry experience
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
• Preferred certifications: CCRN, PCCN, NIH Stroke
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and communication skills
• Familiarity with multi-system organ failure and advanced respiratory modalities

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop evidence-based plans of care
• Administer medications and manage complex drips safely
• Interpret telemetry strips and collaborate with care team members
• Serve as patient advocate addressing psychosocial needs and care coordination
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain documentation accuracy
