A specialized registered nurse opportunity is available for experienced RNs skilled in stepdown care, focusing on neurological patients within a progressive care unit setting. Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans for stepdown unit patients, emphasizing neuro patients with complex needs.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice regulations and hospital policies.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for patient care coordination across multiple disciplines.
• Advocate for patient safety and engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Manage care for patients experiencing multi-system challenges, including trauma and organ failure.
• Utilize clinical judgment to respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Collaborate with families, care teams, and support services to address patient needs holistically.

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

• Current RN license with coverage under a state compact or in the state of practice.
• Minimum one year of RN experience; neuro stepdown or acute care experience strongly preferred.
• Licenses and certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certification are required.
• Competency in electronic health records (preferably EPIC) and evidence-based nursing interventions.
• Ability to manage high-acuity patient ratios with attention to detail and clinical expertise.

Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts with alternating every other weekend and holiday coverage.

This contract role requires neuro experience and a Dysrhythmia exam (study guide available) to ensure readiness for patient needs. Pediatric beds are excluded from this opportunity. Navy blue scrubs are standard for the unit.
