Overview
This role involves diagnosing, evaluating, testing, calibrating, and repairing building automation systems, as well as providing support for owner and user training within commercial properties. Candidates should exhibit strong problem-solving skills, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and business outcomes. The objective is to develop expertise and become a trusted advisor to clients.
Responsibilities- Diagnose, evaluate, test, calibrate, and repair building automation systems.
- Provide support for owner and user training within commercial properties.
- Prioritize multiple tasks with strong problem-solving, time management, and customer-focused outcomes.
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least two (2) years’ experience with mechanical and/or electrical engineering systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction or HVAC industry, control theory, automatic temperature controls, fire alarms, building subsystems and building automation systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (e.g., LON, Bac Net).
- Knowledge of HVAC&R theory; solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills a plus.
- Must have or be able to obtain 10-hour OSHA certification. 30-hour OSHA is a plus.
- Be highly motivated and an independent thinker.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and adapt to a changing environment.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and working proficiency with handheld devices (smartphones, iPads, etc.).
- Ability to communicate with customers and coworkers regarding inspection and service findings.
