Overview
We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and dependable Early Childhood Associate Teacher to join our team! In this role, you'll help create a nurturing and stimulating environment where young children can thrive—socially, emotionally, and academically. The ideal candidate is passionate about early learning, reliable, and enjoys working in a team-focused environment that values creativity, care, and child development.
Duties- Support Learning and Development
- Engage children in age-appropriate learning experiences through play, storytelling, songs, and hands-on activities.
- Teach foundational skills such as letters, numbers, colors, shapes, and personal hygiene.
- Encourage social-emotional development by modeling and supporting positive peer interactions.
- Read to individuals, small groups, or the whole class regularly.
- Support classroom objectives and implement approved curricula.
- Daily Care and Routines
- Assist children with basic needs such as feeding, dressing, potty training, or diapering.
- Greet children warmly and help them transition into the day’s activities.
- Serve meals and snacks following nutritional guidelines.
- Classroom Support and Environment
- Prepare learning materials and set up the classroom daily.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Set up indoor and outdoor areas that support motor skill development and creative play.
- Display children’s work thoughtfully to celebrate their learning and foster pride.
- Teamwork and Communication
- Collaborate with other staff to plan lessons and adapt instruction as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers about student progress and behavior.
- Coordinate with supervisors and specialists to meet the needs of individual children.
- Safety and Compliance
- Monitor children’s health, behavior, and safety throughout the day.
- Enforce classroom and school policies consistently and kindly.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental observations.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Experience working with young children in a structured environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g., lifting up to 40 lbs, sitting on the floor, active play)
- Willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification (if not already certified)
- Associate’s degree in early childhood education or at least 9 college credits in ECE
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Familiarity with state licensing regulations and early childhood standards
