Clerical Support, Salem Campus (Part-time) (Administrative)

Summary/Objective
:
This position serves as a member of the Regional Campuses Team at Southwest Baptist University. The primary responsibility is to assist with day-to-day operations for Southwest Baptist University’s Salem campus.

Essential

Job Duties
  • Collaborate with the Campus Director-Mountain View and Salem, the Assistant Director of Campus Operations and Admissions-Salem Campus, and other university stakeholders regarding the operations of the Salem Campus
  • Oversee student employees
  • Assist Adjunct Faculty with book adoptions and assist students in accessing Slingshot
  • Monitor daily attendance of students and advise supervisor regarding absences, and maintain daily attendance sheets
  • Answer phone calls and direct as needed
  • Assist with IT issues as they arise
  • Forward all incoming invoices to the Director
  • Maintain office supply inventory and notify the Director when new supplies are needed
  • Schedule student advising appointments and help reach out to students not enrolled
  • Contact prospective applicants to provide information about academic programs, admissions requirements, and enrollment opportunities.
  • Assist Faculty with copying, printing, etc.
  • Maintain the campus bulletin boards to ensure they are changed at least once a semester
  • Complete other tasks as they may be assigned (e.g., assisting with refund requests, encouraging students to complete FAFSA, and finalizing financial aid each semester)
  • Assist with New Student Orientations, Capping Ceremonies, and other community events. Track the progress of individual applications, acceptance, and enrollment goals
  • Attend recruitment events.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by the supervisor

Position Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Willingness to collaborate with the Salem Campus Director and the Vice President for Regional Campuses in duties and responsibilities
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to represent the college at recruitment events and conferences
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently
  • Demonstrated skill in effective communication and public presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and commitment to diversity
  • Experience with and sensitivity to diverse populations
  • Some supervisory skills and training experience

Preferred

  • A minimum of five years of successful admissions experience or a related field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft environments, including Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Experience with social networking websites
Work Environment
  • Must be able to work in a typical office environment.
  • Must be available to work varied hours and attend activities away from the office.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as a personal computer, fax machine, photocopier, etc.
Physical Abilities
  • Occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicate with students inquiring about their tuition bill or financial aid package. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and get in and out of the vehicle frequently on recruitment visits
