ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse (13-week MICU) | Salem, MA

  • Contract: 13 weeks (May 17, 2026 – August 15, 2026)
  • Assignment Type: Travel Nurse (Critical Care / MICU)
  • Setting: Level III Trauma Center – 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (rotating days/evenings/nights and every other weekend as needed)
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
  • Charting System: Epic EMR (experience preferred)

Required Qualifications (ICU RN / Travel Nurse)
  • Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience (Medical ICU / MICU preferred)
  • Active Massachusetts RN license required by start date
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Telemetry competency: ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Experience floating to Medical/Surgical units (may care for up to 4–5 patients when floated)
  • Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and interdisciplinary communication skills
  • Experience with Epic EMR or similar electronic charting systems preferred
Key Responsibilities (Critical Care RN / MICU Nurse)
  • Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, DKA, GI bleed, renal failure, cardiogenic shock, severe psychiatric conditions, and substance overdose
  • Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry, respond to acute changes, and escalate care appropriately
  • Administer medications and titrate IV drips per protocol; manage advanced hemodynamic support as indicated
  • Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, and the multidisciplinary ICU team in a 24/7 critical care environment
  • Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed while maintaining safe patient ratios (up to 4–5 patients when floated)
  • Document accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR; complete required clinical documentation and handoffs
  • Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, and evidence-based critical care practices
