Hospital PACU Nurse | Salem, Massachusetts

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to support a dynamic surgical recovery environment. This role focuses on providing comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical patients across multiple specialties including general, thoracic, plastic, vascular, orthopedic, urology, and gynecology surgeries, catering to pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (primarily evening shifts with occasional day shifts; no night shifts required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit post-surgery.
• Monitor and assess patients' recovery from anesthesia, providing timely and effective interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimum patient outcomes.
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system for accurate documentation.
• Maintain a 1 RN to 2 patients ratio to deliver attentive care.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in PACU or similar acute care settings.
• Active Massachusetts RN license.
• Current certifications in AHA ACLS, PALS, and BLS.
• Familiarity with treating a wide patient demographic: pediatric to geriatric.
• Ability to work efficiently within a unit handling 30 to 40 patients daily in a 34-bed setting.
