American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position in Massachusetts, requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and an active MA RN license.
Details- 25-bed Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit encompassing L&D, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, 2 ORs, 2 Recovery Rooms, and 2 Antepartum (ANU) rooms with 4 beds
- Average daily census of 15–25 mothers, babies, and laboring patients
- Patient ratios: L&D 1:2–3 (evaluations), 1:1 (active labor, magnesium drip, or epidural);
Postpartum 1:3–4 - Rotating shift position — primarily days with rotation to evenings and nights as needed; straight days are not available
- Shifts rotate between 7:00am–7:30pm, 11:00am–11:30pm, and 7:00pm–7:30am
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- One night of call per week required
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- EMR:
Epic (charting experience required) - No floating required
- Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), NRP (AHA only), and EFM (NCC, K2, or AWHONN accepted; 2-year renewal required)
- ACLS preferred (AHA)
- Proficiency in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum care, OR circulating, and Newborn care required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Proof of active MA licensure required for consideration — both NURSYS and BON verification required
- Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
- Responsibilities span Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, OR circulating, and Newborn care within a combined unit
- Local candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
- Time keeping system: UKG/Kronos
- Parking is not validated at Boston-area locations; public parking is available at candidate's expense
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
