Skill Sets

Required:

• General ED nursing skills
• Assessment and documentation
• IV therapy and phlebotomy
• EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring (must be able to read telemetry strips)
• Point-of-care testing
• Splinting
• Critical thinking and patient education

Clinician-to-Patient Ratio: 4:1 or 5:1, depending on unit needs
