Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night shift Observation Unit position requiring tele strip reading and active MA RN licensure.
Responsibilities- Position is in an Observation Unit with 16 beds caring for adult patients
- Clinician to patient ratio is typically 4:1 or 5:1 based on unit needs
- Work schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts from 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required
- Floating to other units is required
- Rotating shifts may be assigned as needed
- Patient population is primarily adult observation and hold cases
- Uses Epic, Asap, and Clin Doc for electronic charting
- Responsibilities include providing assessment, monitoring, and care for adult observation patients
- Must comply with flu vaccine requirements; no exemptions allowed
- Local candidates must live at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for standard rates
- Scrubs or appropriate clinical attire are required
- Parking at some locations may incur daily costs; public transportation is available
- First time travelers will be considered for this position
- Active, unrestricted MA RN license is required and must be in hand at time of consideration; conditional licenses are not accepted
- Minimum of 2 years of general ED nursing experience is required
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry (tele) strips is required
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications are required
- Current AHA PALS certification preferred
- TNCC certification preferred
- General ED nursing skills including assessment, documentation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
