Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a Massachusetts RN license and the ability to read tele strips.

• Work on the Med/Surg Surgical Stepdown Unit with both a 15-bed Med/Surg unit and an 8-bed Surgical Stepdown unit
• Care for patients following general, GYN, vascular, thoracic, urology, oral, plastics, and trauma surgeries
• Patient ratios are 3-5 per RN on Med/Surg and 2-3 per RN on Stepdown
• Role requires telemetry monitoring, including reading tele strips
• Night shifts from 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required
• EPIC charting system is used on this unit
• Free on-site parking available
• Must be able to float to related units as required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Local candidates within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible at a reduced rate
• No rotating shifts required
• All extensions subject to a lower contracted rate
• Scrubs must comply with facility policy

• Active MA RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, both must be through AHA
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Proficient in reading tele strips and in management of chest tubes, NGT, epidurals, and capnography
• Experience with arterial lines and neo-synephrine management preferred
