Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Float Pool RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Massachusetts, requiring an active MA RN license and strong cardiac monitoring skills.
Responsibilities- Float between 8 different units within a hospital, covering all Med/Surg Telemetry areas
- Responsible for cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and interpreting tele strips
- Patient populations include ED border patients, acute mental health medication nurse, and non-vented ICU transfer-ready patients
- Clinician to patient ratios up to 5:1 on days/evenings and 6:1 on nights
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- Requires rotating day, evening, and night shifts with weekend coverage
- 371-bed hospital with unit sizes ranging from 8 to 41 beds
- Must be willing to float throughout multiple hospital units as assigned
- Free on-site parking provided at this location
- Local candidates with permanent residence within 60 miles of Boston receive adjusted compensation
- Patient care responsibilities include ED border patients, acute mental health medication delivery, and ICU step-down non-vented patients
- Scrubs required per hospital policy
- No first-time travelers accepted; two years of hospital experience preferred
- Active Massachusetts RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum two years of acute care hospital experience strongly preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, interval measurement, and interpretation
- Experience administering cardiac drips and reading tele strips
- TR Band experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency preferred
- Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
