Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a nighttime ED Observation Unit position requiring active MA licensure, telemetry skills, and current AHA certifications.

• Work in the Observation Unit within the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• Unit has 16 beds serving primarily adult patients
• Typical clinician-to-patient ratio is 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs
• Required to work 36 hours per week, night shifts (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend coverage
• Floating to other units is required
• Uses Epic, Asap, and Clin Doc for charting;
  Epic experience preferred
• Position involves caring for adult observation and hold patients
• Responsible for monitoring cardiac status, performing assessments, administering medications, and providing patient education
• Flu vaccination is required with no exemptions allowed
• Rotating shift assignments may be required based on unit needs
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Boston will receive a reduced rate
• Parking may incur additional daily costs depending on facility location
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role

• Active and current MA RN license, with no conditional licenses accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant ED or observation unit experience
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• PALS certification preferred
• Must be able to read telemetry strips
• General ED skills required, including assessment, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
