Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Pool RN with telemetry experience for rotating day, evening, and night shifts and a current MA RN license.

• Work in a hospital float pool environment, covering 8 different Med/Surg Tele units
• Responsible for patient care across units such as ED, acute mental health, ICUs, and overflow areas
• Patient ratios are up to 5:1 on days/evenings and 6:1 on nights
• Care for cardiac, ED border, and transfer-ready non-ventilated ICU patients
• Perform cardiac monitoring, manage cardiac drips, and read telemetry strips
• Experience with TR Band required
• Must rotate between day, evening, and night shifts and work every other weekend
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• Responsible for telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours
• Will float to 8 different units as needed to provide Med/Surg and tele nursing support
• Free on-site parking available
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates must have a permanent residence at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital for standard travel rate
• Hospital bed capacity is 371, with individual unit census ranging from 8 to 41 beds
• Dress code and scrub color details will be provided upon assignment

• Active MA RN license required; conditional or pending licenses are not accepted
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required (must be AHA-certified)
• Two years of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and interpretation, cardiac drips, and use of TR Bands
• Prior float experience across multiple units is preferred
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions allowed
