The ED RN at Salem Hospital is responsible for managing all aspects of the nursing process and the delivery of patient and family centered care. The RN has the responsibility and authority to request and use governing and administrative resources, technological and support systems, and multidisciplinary clinical experts necessary to manage and deliver quality, cost effective patient care. The Salem Hospital Emergency Team is an integral part of the nursing division.

This Team is interprofessional representing expert nurses, physicians, mid-levels and support personal providing compassionate and personalized care to every patient who comes through our doors. Our Emergency Department has 65 private patient bays, a dedicated waiting room for our pediatric patients, and dedicated space for our behavioral health patients. In addition, this new layout has allowed for a new patient care model designed to provide high-quality, efficient care and reduce unnecessary wait times with the addition of dedicated Radiology space within the ED.

We provide both adult and pediatric emergency care, Level III trauma center, highest-ranked Stroke Center and the first hospital on the North Shore to offer advanced care for sexual assault patients. Our department leadership is very visible on the unit, offers an open-door policy and transparent conversations. The front-line staff are invaluable with feedback when workflow or standard work changes are necessary for better outcomes.

In addition, we have a dedicated Nurse Educator to assist with a comprehensive orientation program and individual programs to meet your needs. This includes ongoing education to provide the most up-to-date evidenced based practice. • ED experience preferred.
  
  - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• The position Requires a valid/Current license to practice as a RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• BLS required.
  
  - Bachelor’s degree is preferred. ACLS preferred.
• 36 hr. 7a-7p every other weekend and every other holiday
