Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Float Pool M/S Tele RN with active MA licensure and strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills.
Responsibilities- Float throughout all Med/Surg Tele units including emergency and acute mental health units within a hospital setting
- Care for a diverse patient population including ED border patients, medication nurse duties in acute mental health units, and non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
- Expected to float between 8 different units:
Davenport 5, 7, 8, 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow - Day, evening, and night shifts rotate with every other weekend required, 36-hour workweek
- Clinician-to-patient ratio is up to 5:1 for days and evenings, and up to 6:1 for nights
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, telemetry strip reading, and TR Band required
- Uses EPIC electronic medical record system
- Must be willing to float across 8 different hospital units as needed
- Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions granted
- FREE on-site parking is available
- Local candidates must live at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to qualify for the travel rate
- Orientation to unit procedures and required skills provided
- Holiday work coverage may be required as scheduled by the facility
- Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Two years of acute care hospital experience preferred
- Ability to interpret telemetry strips every 4 hours and administer cardiac drips
- Experience with TR Band procedures necessary
- Must provide proof of MA licensure at the time of consideration
