Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Float Pool M/S Tele RN with active MA licensure and strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills.

• Float throughout all Med/Surg Tele units including emergency and acute mental health units within a hospital setting
• Care for a diverse patient population including ED border patients, medication nurse duties in acute mental health units, and non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
• Expected to float between 8 different units:
  Davenport 5, 7, 8, 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow
• Day, evening, and night shifts rotate with every other weekend required, 36-hour workweek
• Clinician-to-patient ratio is up to 5:1 for days and evenings, and up to 6:1 for nights
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, telemetry strip reading, and TR Band required
• Uses EPIC electronic medical record system
• Must be willing to float across 8 different hospital units as needed
• Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions granted
• FREE on-site parking is available
• Local candidates must live at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to qualify for the travel rate
• Orientation to unit procedures and required skills provided
• Holiday work coverage may be required as scheduled by the facility

• Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Two years of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips every 4 hours and administer cardiac drips
• Experience with TR Band procedures necessary
• Must provide proof of MA licensure at the time of consideration
