About the ELA DCA Task Force

Salem High School will be implementing three district common assessments for ELA in 25-26 in 9th grade and 10th grade. These assessments will be based on the themes and priority standards from the O'Dell curriculum units. Teachers on this task force will create ELA DCAs by selecting thematically aligned paired texts and crafting MCAS style, standards aligned multiple choice and short answer questions.

Teachers on this task force will also add the DCAs to Pear Assessment so that they can be published in the district collection.

Responsibilities and Timelines:

* Participate in a one hour kick-off meeting for the DCA Task Force before the end of the school year, date to be mutually agreed upon by task force members ($45)

* Identify paired passages that are thematically aligned to ODell units by July 11th ($450)

* Craft MCAS style, standards aligned multiple choice questions for all three assessments by August 1st ($900)

* Complete revisions and edits to assessments by August 18th ($450)

Total Compensation: $1,845

Job Requirements:

* Current 9th or 10th grade ELA teacher at Salem High School

* Ability to work flexibly outside of contractual hours during the summer of 2025 and meet the deadlines outlined above

* Fluency with creating assessments in Pear Assessment a plus
