A leading organization is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support sourcing activities, vendor management, and cost‑optimization initiatives across plant operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials, equipment, and service needs are met efficiently and in alignment with organizational standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and experienced in managing operational and tactical procurement in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities- Coordinate day‑to‑day purchasing activities for goods and services needed to support plant operations.
- Partner with site leadership to anticipate procurement requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Execute sourcing events (RFQs/RFPs) in alignment with corporate procurement policies.
- Support the implementation of category strategies developed by regional and corporate procurement teams.
- Track supplier performance and communicate results to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation for contracts, negotiations, and purchasing activity.
- Identify local cost‑saving opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with safety and compliance teams to ensure contractors and suppliers meet required standards.
- Prepare and maintain procurement KPIs, reporting cost savings, service levels, and operational performance.
- Serve as the primary liaison between procurement, plant operations, and category managers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across functional teams.
- Thorough understanding of purchasing processes, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to identify cost‑saving opportunities and evaluate supplier performance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and organizational standards.
- Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields include Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience working with cross‑functional teams and supporting operational procurement needs.
- Ability to develop and interpret contracts and technical purchasing requirements.
- Familiarity with supplier compliance platforms and safety protocols is a plus.
- Willingness to follow site PPE and safety standards.
