Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol Driver in Saint Petersburg, FL
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with clear communication and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver s license and an armed guard card or license.

- Provide customer service to visitors and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government office location.
- Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal policies, state and local laws, and client site requirements, including maintaining required permits, training, and qualification standards.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, offices, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing visitors to appropriate service areas in a professional manner.
- Monitor cameras, alarms, and communications equipment, and report irregular conditions to site leadership and/or the appropriate authorities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts when possible and requesting assistance when needed.
- Provide a visible presence during peak public service hours, special events, and/or high-traffic periods to help to deter disruptive behavior.
- Complete incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation with clear and timely details, following site-specific reporting procedures.
- Support emergency response activities such as evacuations, shelter-in-place actions, and medical response coordination until responders arrive.
- Interact with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed, preserving scene integrity and providing relevant observations.
- Assist with securing restricted areas, controlling elevator and/or stairwell access when directed, and enforcing posted rules consistent with site policy.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous communication while enforcing policies consistently and addressing questions from the public.
- A valid driver s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Three or more years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree is required.
- An Armed Guard Card and/or license is required.
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver s license will be required for driving positions only.
