Position Summary
The Full-Time Associate is responsible for assisting the store management team with daily store operational functions, including providing excellent customer service, driving sales, merchandising, and other responsibilities as assigned by management. All activities should be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a results-oriented approach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Builds customer relationships by demonstrating excellent customer service, assisting all customers professionally, courteously, reliably, attentively, honestly, and responsively. Identifies customer needs and provides knowledgeable assistance to help customers select suitable products.Displays basic fashion and trend knowledge to satisfy customer needs by selling appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards and building relationships.Assists with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.Maintains a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.Enforces all company policies and embraces service training and product programs.Supports the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying issues related to loss or inventory discrepancies to achieve shrink reduction goals.Monitors and ensures operational compliance, safety, and business standards.Supports training staff in selling and merchandising techniques.Minimizes inventory shrinkage by following loss prevention policies and security procedures.Enforces proper point of sale procedures, balances cash, and investigates discrepancies with management.Keeps management informed of important developments and potential issues.Maintains a neat and organized sales environment.Performs other duties as assigned.A standard workweek is 35-40 hours.Qualifications
To perform this role successfully, the employee must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. The following are preferred:
Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not required.High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.Skills and Knowledge
Excellent command of English for effective communication.Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently.Open availability and flexibility to meet business needs.Basic fashion and style trend knowledge, with a desire to work with customers.Proven ability to work in a team, handle responsibility, and understand customer needs.Willingness to work across multiple stores in the district.Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods, lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.Work extended hours during critical phases, in a fast-paced environment.Reliable transportation is required.Additional Information
