The PA Cardiac First Assist Per Diem at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is responsible and accountable for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic cardiac illness or injury under the supervision of a physician. Physician Assistants (PAs) are expected to participate in evidence-based clinical practice, clinical research, ongoing innovative education, and shared governance throughout the organization.

Ranked in multiple specialties by U.S. News & World Report, we provide access to innovative treatments and therapies. With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's west coast.
Physicians and community hospitals rely on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Qualifications:
- Clinical Master’s Degree as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA certification
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Cardiovascular Surgery as a First Assist, with pediatric experience
- Current Florida State Licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Current National Certification as a Physician Assistant and CAQ;
Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery certification required within three years of hire

Salary Range:
Minimum $69.64/hour - Maximum $69.64/hour. Compensation depends on experience and role scope.
