The St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Club Manager who excels at organization, communication, and providing the highest standards of service to our club members and the public. The Club Manager organizes and runs club activities and is responsible for communication to members and the public via emails, website, and social media. The Club Manager reports directly to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities- Responsible for overall daily club operations, ensuring the club runs smoothly and is ready for events.
- Respond to general emails and phone calls.
- Respond to emails and calls from members, assisting members with league registration, event registration, and membership renewal as needed.
- Assist with executing a wide variety of events for members and the public, including but not limited to tournaments, parties, and Friday nights.
- Manage membership database, mail membership cards, and welcome new members.
- Create communications for members, including newsletter, email, website and portal updates.
- Share social media duties.
- Coordinate with Volunteer Manager to identify volunteer needs and schedule volunteers.
- Coordinate with Rental Manager to ensure club is ready for private events.
- Purchase supplies for the club, such as cleaning, kitchen, and shuffleboard supplies.
- Assist Executive Director and Rental Manager with administrative tasks as needed.
- Some evenings and weekends are required, staff shares this responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
- HS diploma.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks and juggle a complicated event schedule.
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills: the ability to work effectively with other staff, vendors, volunteers, members, and the public.
- A genuine love of working with people! Enthusiasm, passion for the club, self-motivation, a professional demeanor, highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to prioritize problems and problem-solve quickly, sometimes right in the middle of an event.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and able to adapt to new systems quickly.
- Availability to work varied shifts, including some evenings and weekends.
- Experience with membership management is highly desirable.
- Event experience is highly desirable.
- Social Media and Marketing experience is highly desirable.
- Bookkeeping experience is highly desirable.
This is a full-time job, starting at $38,000 - $42,000 a year, depending on experience. We offer a health insurance stipend and a generous paid time off package.

Founded in 1924, the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is a historic recreational club in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. It has the distinction of being the oldest and largest shuffleboard club in the world. The organization provides recreational use of the club to 2,700 members and the public, resulting in approximately 40,000 visits a year. We offer league play, lessons, history talks, and other events to preserve the historic facility and promote the game of shuffleboard.
