Catalent’s flagship softgel development and manufacturing facility in North America is located in St. Petersburg, FL. The facility has a capacity of 18 billion capsules per year. Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday, mid-shift with an 11:00 AM–12:00 PM start and a 7:00 PM–8:00 PM finish. 100% on-site in St. Petersburg, FL.
The Raw Materials Sampler is responsible for sampling and inspecting incoming raw materials and packaging components, including performing physical testing as required. This role documents and communicates results in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, and internal guidelines while maintaining accurate laboratory records. The position also supports training, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance with FDA, EPA, and OSHA regulations while working safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to follow written instructions and specifications under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
- Interaction with the shipping/receiving dept. in the facility warehouse.
- Inspects all incoming raw material containers; verify accurate label information, lot numbers and associated paperwork.
- Responsible for entering sample information into a logbook. Good documentation practices a must.
- Samples incoming raw materials by physically removing a representative sample from a selected number of containers; detects off-color specification, particle size, appearance, etc.
- Tests for physical measurement of Packaging Components and specific Identification tests of various Raw Materials.
- Prepares sample label(s), delivers sample(s) to Quality Control Laboratory.
- Files and maintains Raw Material retain samples. Prepares Analytical and sampling report forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School education is required, preferably with some college course work in related sciences.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and express great attention to detail.
- Some of the work will be in the warehouse.
- Vision requirements include ability to differentiate color, having 20/30 vision with or without corrective lenses.
