Position: Maintenance Technician I- 3rd Shift

Perform work involving specific maintenance skill sets, either mechanical or electrical, to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the building in repair. Duties include repairing mechanical equipment, changing molds in presses, rebuilding and repairing injector guns, facility sanitation & cleaning, general preventative maintenance, basic repairs of building structures, and other duties as assigned.

Primary Functions

  • Use of hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches to perform job duties.
  • Change molds according to production schedules and restore machines to operational status.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
  • Repair production equipment and plant utility systems, troubleshooting complex machinery and making adjustments.
  • Ensure proper operation of electrical and mechanical components, including switches, motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas and perform routine preventive maintenance.
  • Lubricate machinery parts and inspect/test equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Reassemble equipment and install components like seals, bearings, belts, gears, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, wire and install electric motors, and repair basic wiring.
  • Follow plant safety rules and help identify safety hazards.
  • Assist in maintaining quality and efficiency standards, and keep work areas organized.
  • Report problems to supervisors and maintain good working relationships.
  • Work safely, avoiding threats to health or property, and attend regularly.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships and stay current with necessary skills.
  • Education and Experience

    High School Diploma or GED; 1-3 years of maintenance experience; experience in manufacturing environment; knowledge of general maintenance, basic electrical systems, lean manufacturing principles, and fluid systems.

    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to perform heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs), work in confined spaces, and endure physical activities like reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and standing for periods. Vision and hearing must be sufficient for job tasks. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
