Position SummaryThe Residential Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership and oversight for all residential treatment services, ensuring high-quality client care and compliance with agency and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for the training, development, and supervision of clinical staff, including providing direct clinical supervision for team members pursuing licensure. The Residential Clinical Supervisor works collaboratively with program leadership to enhance service delivery, support staff performance, and promote a safe, therapeutic environment for clients.
Essential job functions are outlined below, though additional responsibilities may be assigned to meet program needs.
- Interview, hire, and onboard residential clinical staff, in consultation with the Program Director, Regional Vice President, Human Resources, and other relevant personnel.
- Provide training, supervision, and professional development for 10-14 residential clinical staff, including guidance for staff pursuing licensure and credentials.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to counselors, promoting a positive and productive team environment.
- Develop staff schedules and assign daily responsibilities to maintain adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Conduct performance evaluations for clinical staff in collaboration with the Program Manager; provide recommendations to the Residential Services Director regarding advancement and retention.
- Conduct weekly meetings with staff and treatment teams to review program operations and client care.
- Provide regular clinical supervision to treatment teams, including file reviews and quality improvement assessments; initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Review and approve all client treatment plans.
- Ensure implementation and fidelity of evidence-based practices (EBPs) across all clinical programs.
- Assist and provide guidance to counseling staff regarding MAT services.
- Lead the development and growth of programs focused on mental health treatment and co-occurring disorders.
- Collaborate with the Residential Services Director and VP of Operations on program design, development, and implementation of additional services.
- Oversee coordination of supplementary services for clients, including detox, transitional housing, outpatient programs, and the MAT Program.
- Develop and implement crisis response plans, ensuring timely and effective responses to resident crises.
- Respond to and direct interventions in crisis situations, ensuring client and staff safety in accordance with West Care procedures.
- Report unusual client behaviors or incidents and escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Participate in risk management activities, such as root cause analyses and quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor completion of clinical duties, ensuring compliance with West Care procedures and contract requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate all monitoring and review activities conducted by managing entities, licensing agencies, and accreditation bodies, including preparation, participation, response to findings, and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with all West Care policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular clinical reports on program outcomes and client progress to the Clinical Services Director.
- Foster collaboration and communication among team members.
- Promote and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of West Care Foundation.
- Travel as required to support program operations and staff supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet program and organizational needs.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required. Must be able to be insured under West Care’s policy.
- Advanced knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, including co-occurring conditions.
