Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, responsible for actively resolving day-to-day needs of the business unit with a focus on the analysis of processes, dissecting problems and suggesting innovative and technical solutions. Provide project leadership for the implementation of projects, including process analysis, requirements gathering, design and testing. Must understand technical problems and solutions in relation to existing business environment, and be proactive in identifying and applying emerging business technologies and processes.

  • Provide project leadership for the development and execution of thorough and efficient test plans required for the implementation of projects, including enhancements of proprietary systems and new product development. Lead work teams in the development of strategic plans, leveraging both technical solutions and business process improvement. Make recommendations based on findings to department manager/head. Interact with Programmers and System Technicians to analyze, design, maintain and develop, test and support proprietary system applications.
  • Coordinate systems implementation, testing and any training that becomes necessary as a result of conclusions reached in project-related activities of systems implementation or policy change. Serve as the primary technical resource for the management of operational functions related to systems ensuring the integrity of the databases. Maintain accurate written procedures for all systems.
  • Utilize PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software. Interpret, write and test complex reports. Compile and analyze reports, graphs and charts of data developed. Maintain a growing knowledge of specialized functionalities for each system. Evolve into a subject-matter expert who can analyze the business applications and technologies.
  • Proactively participate in continuous review and updates of current policies and procedures to ensure that they meet changing business unit conditions. Document and maintain statistics, records and reports that help establish instructions, procedures and quality control standards.
  • Provide input, counsel, and leadership to support planning and prioritization of business systems-related activities. Includes developing the business unit systems plan using knowledge of industry trends and technologies to integrate that plan with the corporate systems plan.
  • Work with clients and/or software vendors to determine software compatibility solutions. Review file format, layout, design format and test compatibility.
  • Provide input and support in the planning and prioritization for business systems-related processes and policies by maintaining and communicating knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with vendors supporting assigned systems. Participate in the analysis of vendor supplied options and investigate potential internal options that may be developed to fulfill the client's needs.
  • Work closely with Data and Technology - Services (D&TS) providing necessary information to correct any production issues or requirements related to enhancements/work item requests (WIR).
  • Creates procedures and instructions to support Bank Policy, Standards and Regulations. Implement controls to mitigate risk. Responsible for Bank Secrecy Act/Office of Foreign Assets Control (BSA/OFAC) activities and responding to audits, surveys and assessments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent education and related training
  • Five years of system operations, database management and banking experience
  • Strong knowledge of project management
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of bank operations, accounting functions and associated technology
  • Ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
