Overview — A Dev Ops Engineer in our Salesforce Development teams is responsible for implementing and owning the Salesforce Dev Ops process. The engineer works to improve developer productivity and delivery speed by enabling developers to be more self-sufficient and by automating operations processes. This role also serves as the Salesforce Environment and Release Manager, monitoring and analyzing the production pipeline and ensuring quality and integrity of releases.
In-depth knowledge of SFDC Dev Ops best practices and tool offerings is required to design and implement scalable solutions. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.
- Plan, execute, and oversee Salesforce releases with multiple delivery teams delivering on the same Salesforce org.
- Manage proper tracking of released components in version control.
- Own and continually improve the release process by documenting release issues and developing plans to improve process or automation.
- Prepare and execute an optimal Sandbox strategy for parallel projects with different timelines.
- Prepare release notes and communicate release status to stakeholders and project teams.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve build problems and merge conflicts.
- Maintain consistency between Salesforce sandbox environments from Development through QA, SIT/Staging, and Production.
- Provide feedback to Leadership regarding status of work and any roadblocks encountered.
- Support deployments and resolve deployment issues.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and latest SFDC offerings and development best practices related to the Dev Ops process.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technology field.
- 2-3 years of experience with the 3 Dev Ops Areas:
Code and Configuration Management, Environment Management, and Release and Deployment Management. - Minimum three years of experience with Salesforce Platform with core development and deployment experience.
- Experience in the CRM domain; understanding of SFDC architecture and integration approaches, architecture, and release management.
- Experience with major Salesforce Release tools (Copado, Flosum, Gearset, etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline management through Jenkins, Git Lab, etc.
- At least 2-3 years of experience with version control systems and deployments.
- Solid understanding of the Salesforce security model.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies, specifically Agile.
- Experience working as part of an Agile SDLC team and collaborative, iterative processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with a diverse group of associates.
- Creative, solutions-oriented mindset and innovator.
- High-energy self-starter; able to take initiative with minimal guidance.
- Experience in delivering SaaS products is preferred.
In the spirit of pay transparency, the starting base pay range for this position is $93,590-$147,070 annually. This range is base pay and does not include other components of total compensation. Overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience, which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
