Job SummaryAs the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) supporting HFJV's USGS Science and Technical Support Services contract, you will assist the PM in daily operations, focusing on task execution, team coordination, and quality control. This role ensures continuity in research support, data management, and technical project management, helping drive USGS environmental and natural resource objectives across the Southeast Region.
Key Responsibilities- Support PM in task order implementation, including resource assignment, schedule monitoring, and performance tracking for IDIQ deliverables.
- Coordinate with USGS staff on technical requirements, facilitating meetings and resolving operational issues in real-time.
- Oversee day-to-day team activities, including workflow optimization, training, and skill development to maintain high performance.
- Conduct risk assessments and mitigation for site-specific challenges (e.g., in Florida or Missouri locations), using tools like risk registers.
- Assist in reporting, aggregating data from task orders for financial and progress updates.
- Promote team retention and morale through feedback sessions and alignment with HFJV's employee-focused policies.
- Step in for PM as needed, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance with federal standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Business Administration, or related; advanced degree a plus.
- 7+ years in federal contract support, with 3+ years in deputy or supervisory roles for science/technical projects.
- Experience with IDIQ task orders and multi-site coordination in natural resources or data-driven fields.
- Proficiency in PMBoK tools, Microsoft Office, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; U.S. citizenship required.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
