Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or Synapse Pipelines.
- Develop and optimize robust relational data models, stored procedures, and SQL workloads in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.
- Architect and implement data solutions leveraging Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure-native services.
- Ensure data quality, governance, security, and reliability through best practices in monitoring, validation, version control, and metadata management.
- Collaborate with analytics, reporting, and business teams to ensure data structures and pipelines support accurate, consistent, and accessible insights.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize database operations, queries, and compute configurations for efficiency and scale.
- Document data architectures, pipelines, and processes, and provide knowledge transfer to engineering and analytics teams.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a data‑focused engineering role with hands‑on experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage).
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience with Advanced Microsoft SQL Server and T‑SQL, including performance tuning, indexing, and stored procedure development.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (Associate Degree, minimum 6 years work experience.)
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure‑as‑Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform), or automated deployment of data assets.
- Familiarity with big‑data or distributed compute frameworks (e.g., Spark via Azure Databricks).
- Exposure to real‑time or streaming architectures using Azure Event Hubs or Azure Stream Analytics.
- Experience integrating Azure data solutions with BI platforms such as Power BI for analytics consumption.
- Ability to automate data workflows using Python, PySpark, or Power Shell.
- Ability to design and implement scalable ETL/ELT architectures following modern cloud data engineering patterns.
- Strong understanding of data modeling (dimensional and relational), data warehousing concepts, and schema design.
- Knowledge of data security, access control, and governance within Azure environments.
This role will require 3 days per week in the office.
LocationHiring locations are Tampa, FL or Nashville, TN.
