Overview
The Vice President of Hospitality leads all aspects of the F&B experience, premium services and retail operations for the Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Rowdies, ensuring world-class standards across concessions, suites, catering, clubs, retail and special events. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, revenue growth, and brand alignment while fostering a culture of exceptional service and innovation. They act as the main liaison with the organization’s hospitality vendor, fostering a collaborative and transparent relationship dedicated to providing the highest levels of quality, service and presentation in the industry.
This position is responsible for coordination amongst multiple departments and functions that relate to hospitality for the Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Rowdies.
- Manage relationships with Levy and other partners overseeing food, beverage, and retail operations at Tropicana Field, Charlotte Sports Park, and Al Lang Stadium.
- Develop and implement hospitality strategies to enhance guest experience.
- Create innovative premium offerings and activations in partnership with culinary, creative, and operations teams.
- Oversee hospitality programs for concerts, private events, and community gatherings, ensuring consistent quality and brand alignment.
- Drive profitability through pricing strategy, menu innovation, seasonal concepts, cost control, and inventory management.
- Establish product, pricing, display, and service standards with hospitality partners.
- Monitor budgets, financial performance, and vendor results to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Partner with Strategy, Finance, and Legal on planning, audits, capital expenditures, and contracts.
- Maintain high service standards through training, coaching, and guest relations initiatives.
- Implement performance measurement, reporting, and guest feedback systems.
- Develop innovative concepts to enhance revenue, branding, and guest engagement.
- Coordinate with Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, Creative, and IT on partner integration, branding, and technology.
- Monitor event operations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Oversee financial operations, reporting, controls, and internal safeguards.
- Gather competitive intelligence and benchmark against comparable venues.
- Ensure compliance with cleanliness, health, and operational standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience in hospitality or sports/entertainment operations.
- Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and integrate departmental goals.
- Knowledge of global hospitality trends and markets.
- Experience with technology implementation such as POS systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to analyze data, spot trends and opportunities and effectively communicate trends and recommendations.
- Highly organized and detailed, with strong multi-tasking skills.
