Overview
Administrative Clinical Assistant - St. Petersburg
Responsibilities- To provide excellent customer service to all patients, visitors and coworkers.
- Be organized and detail oriented and conduct oneself in a professional and positive manner on a consistent basis during challenging situations.
- Prepare all patient charts in Athena for visit by ensuring that all pertinent records, test results, imaging and referral information is available in the secure drive or securely transported to the necessary location.
- Ensure that zones are adequately stocked for the clinic, including medical supplies, injectables and patient information brochures or handouts.
- Escort patients into the exam rooms and complete patient intake documentation per clinic protocol and complete the mandated MIPS intake.
- Prepare patients for visit with provider by removing sutures, staples, dressings, etc., having patient change as necessary, positioning patient for exam or procedure and completing any necessary consents.
- Assist the physician during visit with injections or office procedures.
- Prepare prescriptions, excuse notes, referrals and patient education materials.
- Ensure that the patient understands the physician’s instructions for sample medications and follow-up care.
- Complete DCW
25 workers’ compensation status forms as applicable. - Breakdown of patient charts with appropriate disposal of PHI, completion and scanning of patient forms, records, etc.
- Clean zones and exam rooms, ensuring red bags and sharps boxes are replaced if applicable.
- Re-stock all exam rooms and MA station for the next day clinic.
- Ensure the safety and security of all PHI in accordance with state and federal HIPAA regulations.
- Handle inter-office correspondence sent to their Provider.
- Open and distribute mail for Physician.
- Maintain the Physician’s schedule.
- Answer all phone calls and voicemails for their Provider’s practice.
- Create patient cases in Athena.
- Schedule appointments, depositions, conferences, etc.
- Liaison between Physician and patient.
- Prepare letters of excuse from work or school.
- Triages patient calls.
- Facilitate patient interaction with other FOI departments.
- Complete Disability Forms for patients.
- Make travel arrangements for Physicians, if applicable.
