Responsibilities
  • Travel nationwide for 13‑week assignments, providing physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence under the supervision of a licensed PT.
  • Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of PT under the direction of the physical therapist.
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services; adherence to an established plan of care, department and patient(s)’ schedule, and timely documentation of services.
  • Work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
  • Act as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
  • Instruct patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  • Clean, maintain, identify, and report the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
  • Implement a patient’s individualized treatment plan as established by the primary PT.
  • Provide individualized physical therapy treatments including therapeutic exercise (aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training), functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance techniques, integumentary repair and protection, use of electro‑therapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalities and organize treatment groups in collaboration with the PT.
  • Put Patient Service First: ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state of practice.
  • Must be available to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist’s primary home.
Posted Salary Range

USD $45.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr.
