Medical Assistant or LPN - Occupational Health Float Team
Bay Care is Tampa Bay's leading multi‑specialty group with more than 600 providers practicing 45 specialties in over 175 outpatient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and west central Florida regions. We are searching for a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community.
Position Details- Location: Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco Counties
- Status: PRN (non‑exempt)
- Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday‑through‑Friday
- Float Team: Requires travel to satellite locations; provide own transportation. Mileage is reimbursable and an additional $2.00/hour is added to the base rate.

- Take patient histories and perform routine lab procedures
- Prepare specimens for transport to the lab
- Follow up on test orders and report results to providers and patients; provide patient education materials
- Maintain medical equipment and order clinical supplies
- Enter and maintain patient electronic medical records (EMR)
- Comply with all applicable regulatory agency regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire
- Approved Medical Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire or proof of active license/certification
- Or one of the following: EMT, NREMT, Paramedic, LPN (Florida license)
- If hired without the required certification, the employee must obtain certification within 90 days of employment and pass within 6 months; failure to do so will result in termination
- Required:
High School or Equivalent - Preferred:
Technical Medical Assistant program
- Preferred: 2 years as a Medical Assistant
- Clinical skills appropriate to the position
- Administrative and clerical skills
- Work independently and with a team
- Customer service and critical thinking skills
- Equipment use and maintenance
- Organizational and time management skills
- Computer skills appropriate to the position
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Written and verbal communication skills
